Recently, The art of Time: When Embroidery traverses fashion (The Art of Time: "When Embroidery Goes through Fashion" is being exhibited in China Silk Museum for over 4 months. There are over 70 designs with over 100 pieces of exquisite contemporary embroidery fashion works on display in the Fashion house of China Silk Museum. Exhibition with contemporary embroidery and fashion art of the relationship for the theme, invited in the field of fashion design, embroidery technology deep cultivation for many years of artists, designers, more than 70 relevant organizations, for the exhibition to provide fashion embroidery works 114 pieces/set. Through "the spirit of silkworm", "live flesh" and "cool" and "CLS", "" future" show five themes, embroidery, explore the interpretation of the contemporary context to explore the diversity of the relationship between the embroidery art and fashion design, take this opportunity to a snapshot of the Oriental fashion life that penetration of ancient and modern, for the future of the beauty of the embroidery.

Led by Professor Wu Haiyan from The School of Design, China Academy of Art, professor Jiang Tutu and Professor Huang Siwen from the Department of Dyeing, Weaving and Fashion Design, the exhibition was jointly planned and completed by China Silk Museum. As a practical exploration under the system of Oriental design, the exhibition team investigated, studied and collected a large number of contemporary embroidery works with embroidery art as a clue. In the course of curating the exhibition, special attention is paid to the contemporary nature of embroidery, fashion and intangible cultural heritage, the relationship between embroidery and other traditional arts in the context of fashion, women's handwork and local embroidery, etc., emphasizing the embodiment of Oriental aesthetics, Oriental fashion and Oriental values in contemporary fashion life.

As an exhibition of research results under the framework of Oriental design, this exhibition not only fully focuses on the value and significance of embroidery art inherited from tradition, but also focuses on the contemporary development of embroidery art to present diversified. China Silk Museum has always been running through the theme of ancient and modern exhibitions, and this exhibition, as one of them, brings a very broad prospect for the future "Fashion +" series exhibitions. From the Angle of curator, exhibition mainly from different dimensions, level of embroidery in fashion design innovation, as well as the joint national and provincial embroidery craft masters, in-depth cooperation with designers, artists and innovation, thus to embroidery the Oriental traditional art to create more possibilities, has inestimable value and significance.

EXHIBITION INTRODUCTION

◎ The first part: Nature silkworm realm

In the spirit silkworm realm section, the contemporary embroidery works with mountains and rivers, strange stones, literati painting and calligraphy as themes through the "classical", "elegant", "silent" artistic style, fully show the contemporary Chinese people's pursuit of traditional Oriental spiritual life. In these ancient works, fully reflects the creator of the repair, the spiritual realm of unity of heaven and man yearning.

◎ The second plate: Live color makes fragrance

In living color plate, with the ceremony of "happy", "well-dressed heavy variety" inherited the eastern traditional festivals of folk culture and spirit of embroidery works, presented the warm rich in Chinese contemporary fashion design and the simple sense of beauty, fully embodies the ancient Chinese culture in the love of a complete happy and thriving vitality.

◎ Section 3rd: Coolism

Cool section, in the tide of young artists and emerging fashion brand through the creation of TuTengShi collage embroidery, popular logo design, show a maverick "avant-garde", "street", "the tide" artistic style, presented the different dimensions of fashion mix and blend of art, the exploration of Oriental art tradition and contemporary fashion constantly move forward.

◎ The 4th section: In the ground

The fashion embroidery works with "ethnic minority characteristics" and "regional cultural characteristics" are displayed in the ground color section. Through the contemporary activation of ethnic minorities, traditional art forms and local embroidery art characteristics, the contemporary embroidery fashion can have colorful style and charm.

◎ Panel 5th: Diverse futures

In the multi-Future section, traditional craft masters cooperate with contemporary designers and artists to further explore the contemporary artistic value and expression of embroidery, a treasure of Oriental traditional art, through installation art and multimedia creation.
